When I was younger (about eight or nine) my grandma bought my brother and I each a big bag of stuff. She got us school clothes and toys and everything we could’ve wanted. Looking back on it that was super kind of her. She had the money so why not?

But… Tonight I realized something better. I’ve been having a really bad day. My emotions just flying everywhere going crazy. To cope a bit I decided to sit on my bedroom floor and wrap myself in the blanket my grandfather gave to me when I was 16. At the time I wasn’t the most thrilled with the gift but thought it was nice of him to think of me. But as I sat here… I realized that this blanket wasn’t that expensive. Maybe 12 dollars at a local walmart. But… for my grandpa that’s a lot. He spent some of the little money he had on a gift for me because he loved me. That made me feel a lot better tonight. He loved me so much that he gave what he could. Sure it wasn’t a big bag of stuff but… the meaning it now holds will forever be the greatest thing for me.
